How do I begin my coverage?

To begin coverage, simply call our toll-free number or e-mail your request to us. One of our insurance specialists will promptly assist you in the review and completion of your application for coverage.

What happens after my application is completed?

After the completion of your application, we will mail it directly to your home or office, along with all documents needed to initiate coverage. After you receive your application packet, you will be contacted to schedule a brief paramedic exam at your convenience, at the location you prefer -- your home, office or nearby paramedic center. At the time of your exam, your paramedic will collect your signed application and forward it to our office for further processing. You may also have the option to pay your first premium at this time, unless applying for more than $500,000 in coverage (or $250,000 in certain cases). Doing so will provide you with immediate protection, subject to the terms of the Conditional Receipt.

How quickly can I obtain coverage?

After your application has been forwarded to our office, our goal is to deliver your policy to you within eight weeks. Please note that this is contingent on the information provided in your application, the results of your paramed exam and the efficiency of your physician’s office in releasing any medical records or additional information that may be needed in the underwriting of your application. 

What if I smoke cigarettes?

Even though rates for smokers are higher than those of non-smokers, some companies treat smokers much more favorably than others. In order to qualify for non-smoker rates, most insurance companies require that you be smoke and tobacco-free for at least one year.

Can my policy ever be canceled due to health reasons?

Even though you as the insured have the right to cancel your coverage at any time, your policy will never be canceled because of a change in your health after policy issue. In addition, you will not need to produce evidence of good health in order to renew your policy at the end of your guaranteed coverage period. 

What if I don’t have perfect health? Can I still obtain coverage?
